Name Istvan (pronounced Isht-Van)About Me Hello, My name is Istvan Fancsali but you can call me "Stefi" for short, all my Friends and Family do. I am Originally from Petrosani (a small mining town) in Romania - Europe. Photography started as a hobby for me about 17 years ago, as I had a passion for nature photography. In time, I began taking professional photos for people at school events and weddings. My love for photography led me to a good friend who enabled me the opportunity of learning how to develop photos. It was fascinating for me to see how a photo could come to life on a piece of paper in the photo lab. With this new found knowledge, Later, I participated in several photo contests, both national and international, where I received first place awards, some of the photos were subsequently published in catalogs. To further my education in the this art-form, I moved forward to study the art of photography in my country where I received an Associate of Arts Degree in Photography. Before I came to the USA, I had photographed, designed and printed 16,000 postcards representing the city where I lived (Petrosani) in Romania. As a bonus of my love of travel, I have had the exciting opportunity to combine my love of travel and photography into one. I was provided the great opportunity to contract with an American photography company for the Royal Carribean and Holland America Cruise Lines as their on-board staff Photographer. I joined the International Freelance Photographers Organization and became a lifetime member giving me an opportunity to participate at different events and meet important personalities around the world. A few highlighted photography events have been the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah and the Boise State Broncos on their last play-off on their infamous blue turf! Photography is my number one passion. In my eyes, it is the best art form that keeps fond and precious memories alive. In February 2008, I was awarded an Honorary Degree of Distinction as a Hall of Fame Member from the International Freelance Photographers Organization.
